Why Accessibility Matters —
Now More Than Ever?
🌍 Over 1.3 billion people globally live with a disability. That’s 1 in 6 of us — WHO, 2022.
🇮🇩 In Indonesia alone, 16% of people live with disabilities — but digital accessibility is rarely enforced.
📱 WebAIM’s 2023 report showed that 97% of the top 1M websites have accessibility failures.
💡 Inclusive design improves UX for everyone, not just people with disabilities.
Accessibility Is Innovation, Not Obligation

🌍 The European Accessibility Act, enforced in 2025, sets a new global standard for inclusive digital products — requiring apps, websites, and services across the EU to be accessible by default.

For designers and tech talent in Indonesia, this signals a growing demand for accessibility expertise — opening doors to work with international teams and build products that include everyone.

This isn’t just data — it’s a design challenge I’ve decided to take personally
